Trusting the smallest decisions

I bet you had that feeling of finishing a great book.

You turn the last page and suddenly you realize there is no more of the story you have just read, but it all added up.

The last page concluded everything you have been thinking about. The plot is complete. Nothing else to add.

But if you think about it, it’s not about how good the book really was. It was all about how you perceived the story.

If it had started with a small disclaimer telling you that the main character is not about to make it to the end of it, then reading the whole book would feel pretty useless.

If the plot ends by the middle of the book, you keep reading hoping to find more.

Could the rest of it just be a big waste of time? There is only one way to find out!

If the plot is incredibly well structured and keeps you going all the way to the final page of the book, then it might feel just as if the learning and discovery process is complete. You got the answers you were looking for, and you’re probably ready to search for another book to binge reading.
